Engineered Wood Flooring: Layered boards for extra strength and suitable for under floor heating
Enjoy the added stability of engineered flooring in rooms where traditional solid wood flooring may not be suitable. These boards are layered to give extra strength and are suitable for under floor heating. A wide range of coloured oils and finishes are also available to finish your engineered floor so you are sure to get an exact colour match. Engineered flooring is constructed of several layers of wood and will usually consist of three different layers. A top hardwood layer, which gives the wood its looks, a core middle section to give the floor its stability, and also a balancing bottom layer. All these are glued together under extreme pressure at 90 degree angles to each other.
It is this construction which makes an engineered floor much more stable than a solid wood floor and thus can be installed as a floating floor over any type of subfloor. Floating installation is by far the easiest of all installation options.
