It's like comparing a Robin Reliant with a Rolls Royce, but without the huge difference in cost. It does cost a little more to use a professional service but the results speak for themselves and prove it is well worth it for real quality that you can see!
If you use one of those hire machines that cost around £25 a day or so, or even worse, an off the shelf machine from a DIY store costing £80-£120 or so, then you are NOT cleaning your carpets deeply. You are simply scraping a tiny bit of muck from the surface. This is because the motors in the machines are simply not powerful enough to clean deep, deep down to the base of the pile.
